WATCH: Honey on Tap: A New Beehive that Automatically Extracts Honey without Disturbing Bees
If I ever realize the dream of owning a couple of hives… I think I need to own one of these hives.
Okay but think about how much trouble bees are in right now, and how many more people could keep their own hives with a system this easy. Plus it stresses the bees less, doesn’t destroy comb unnecessarily, and I’d think that there wouldn’t be any accidental bee squishes this way too.
I’d like to see how it holds up over a few seasons and what kind of cleaning it’d need, but the idea seems solid.
This is some cool stuff. If I could keep a hive, this would be the thing that made me start. (Sadly, my health is too crap, but it’s still making me want to try.)
