Hey all! Sometimes it’s more convenient or cheaper to incorporate technology into your magick. While I, myself, am not a tech witch, I am very tech-savvy (I’m a computer science major and I worked IT) and have a lot of tips to pass on!
Software
Evernote– An amazing free note-taking software. This is an amazing software to use as an electronic book of shadows or grimoire. You can create binders and folders to organize it in a convenient fashion. It’s also very aesthetically pleasing to me, personally
OneNote– Another note-taking software that you can use as an electronic book of shadows or grimoire. It’s similar to Evernote, but it is part of the Microsoft Office suite. You can access OneNote for free via an account of OneDrive.com or download a limited version of it on your computer on the official website
Google Drive– I know this isn’t technically a software, but it’s an amazing website that’s connected to your gmail account. It’s an online flash drive, basically and it’s a good way to be able to store and access your notes anywhere you can access the internet
Witch Vox– Yet another website, but it’s basically a database of witches and covens. It helps networking a ton! It also has details of witchy events as well!
Apps
Binaural Beats Therapy- This is an app that plays sounds that affect brainwaves and some really help with meditation or astral projection
Horoscope and Tarot- An app to access your horoscope and a digital tarot deck to use!
The Book of Shadows- A book of shadows in an app. It has valuable information within it. It’s $4.99, but there is also a lite version of it for free!
Tips
- Use one of the softwares above (or another preferred one!) to create a digital book of shadows/grimoire. Back it up online!
- Use discord to communicate with other witches or to join online covens
- Kindle Unlimited is $10/month and it has tons of witchy books/resources that you can read for free (with a subscription)
- Share your ideas/notes with other using social networks such as Tumblr, amino, or witchcraft.cafe!
- Create playlists as offerings to music or art aligned deities! For example, I’ve created a playlist dedicated to Apollo that I play when I am worshiping him or giving offering
- This is often a debated practice, but never feel discouraged from creating emoji spells!!
- Draw sigils using a doodle app or even the tumblr doodle post feature
- Use pandora or another radio service to practice shufflemancy, a form of divination
- If you trust them, tarot apps are awesome
