Me: “Now, real scientists often name new species after themselves. Add a Greek or Latin-sounding suffix on the end of your name and you get an authentic scientific name for your new dinosaur. If your name is Sarah, you might name your dinosaur ‘Sarahopterix”, and if your name is Connor, you might call it Connorsaurus.”

Boy: “This is Connorsaurus!”

Me: “Wait, is your name actually Connor? Did I just happen to guess that?”

Boy: “Yeah!”

Boy 2: “Heeeeey! My name is ALSO Connor!”

Boy 1: “We both drew Connorsaurus!”

Me: “Well, they look like different species, so maybe you should choose different names so they don’t get confused. One could be Connorsaurus and the other could be Connormimus or—“

Boy 2: “Mine is Connorsaurus REX!”

And then they started fighting and Connor 1 began to cry because HE wanted Connorsaurus Rex and didn’t like my suggestion of Connorsaurus Regis.
