Bite-size pastries are dangerous for me…”@gallusrostromegalus there are things I would do for that recipe. We have a Klotchky recipe that was supposedly from my grandma but it is Not Right, there is something missing and NO ONE in my family can figure out why. I am hoping yours Tastes Right.
Aunt Hattie’s Klotchky Recipe:
Dough
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup Butter
- 1 cup Cream Cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- Optional, maybe it’ll help: tablespoon whiskey or bourbon (Aunt Hattie loved her some boozy desserts so her original recipe calls for a whole shot of whiskey but that much tends to effect the texture of the dough).
Filling:
- Some kind of berry jelly
- just buy the solo brand almond filling? it’s good and I’ve never been able to re-create it.
Instructions: blend dough ingrediants like you’re making pie dough. refrigerate for at least half an hour. roll to 1/3 inch thickness, cut into 2-in long diamond shapes. dab ½ tsp of filling in middle, fold long ends of diamond over. place on ungreased sheet (they won’t stick) bake at 350 for 10-15 min until they get puffy and golden brown. Allow to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
