This teeny sundew sprouted randomly in my bog planter’s soil. Here it is right when I first noticed it, and then after growing for a few weeks. It looks like Drosera rotundifolia, so the seed was probably lying dormant in the peat moss I used. I have no idea when it sprouted! (submitted by @superdarkfuntimes)
this is like….one of my fave Carnivorous Plant Person things to see happen where people will order plants from nurseries that also breed sundews only to find INCREDIBLY small surprise babies sprouting a few weeks later, and they’re always welcomed with open arms bc like of course, what are u gonna do throw out a free friend????? like idk what i would do if i had a baby sundew sprout randomly in my home like i would probably cry…..
sort of related thing: there’s something about very small sundews that make be just like, completely melt. my fave type are the pygmy sundew species from the Australian desert and id LOVE to get a couple one day, just LOOK at them im loosingmyMIND:
