With a few weeks left until the deadline to enter World Quilt Show Florida, I’m still adding the finishing quilted touches I didn’t have time for before QuiltFest Jacksonville.
The peach arcs surrounding my center color wheel compass are puffy, as you can see. The circles I’d previously quilted weren’t enough to make it lay flat.
This looks like another job for one of my favorite versatile quilting fillers, curls and swirls. Reaching out from the center circles, they remind me of sun’s rays, which is perfect. Of course I tried it on a scrap with batting first.
I feel like I need to write an article like “How to React When Your Friend Comes Out: A Guide For Really, Really Straight People” and it’s just eighty pages of me transcribing all the terrible experiences I’ve had coming out to straight people
Chapter 1: Why “I Knew It” Is Nowhere Near As Funny As You Think It Is
Chapter 2: Is Now The Time For An Abridged History Of You Being A Good Ally™? Signs Point To No
Chapter 3: It’s Cool That You Know Other Gay People, But Not Really Relevant Right Now
All these galaxy brain ideas just to avoid confronting the reality that capitalism operates on the presumption that resources are unlimited. To combat climate change, we have to consume/produce less & consume differently. But that would interfere with profits of multinational corporations.
That idea is dumb as fuck and would negatively impact so many organisms that are dependent on the sun. Just destroy capitalism already.
