“I was brought up by a real Italian family. I was an excellent cook and baker, raised my two children well, and they both went to college and are doing great. Everything’s fine, right? Well, when they went to college I got together with my old Italian uncle and his big ‘booster’ ring. We’d go into stores, rob them, and then sell the stuff: cologne, electronics. I used to make $3,000–5,000 a day. “The attorney general came from Albany to bust us—24 people in all. After being brought up like an Italian princess, I ended up doing federal and state prison time. But I’m still blessed, because my kids love and adore me. Now I own an ice cream truck in Florida. I can tell you stories for days. Everybody tells me I should write a book.”
My friends, Sofia and Erica, are both transgender women who are unofficially fostering 2 transgender teens who have been rejected from their families due to their being trans. This trans family of 4 need your help. Their landlord has given them an eviction date of August 1st, because technically they aren’t allowed to have more than just the 2 of them (Sofia and Erica) living there.
Sofia has an immense amount of medical problems and has dealt with a massive amount of transphobia when trying to find a job, so right now they are living off of just 1 income right now. They need help to raise money to find a new place so they can get a new start, and the kids can have some sort of stable foundation again.
Please…these women are amazing people and are trying to give these kids a loving family and household. If you can donate ANYTHING, that would be incredible. If you can’t (i know times are tough for most of us right now), please signal boost this. -Kae
